Why this workshop?

Modern healthcare organisations place leaders under relentless pressure. When demands escalate, even highly experienced leaders can unintentionally drift into reactive patterns of tightened control, withdrawal, over‑striving, perfectionism or self‑criticism. These responses are often understandable attempts to manage threat, but can have unintended consequences for decision‑making, relationships, team culture and organisational effectiveness.

This workshop supports leaders to:

  • Understand how pressure alters leadership style, behaviour and decision‑making.
  • Explore the difference between leadership knowledge and leadership capacity under pressure.
  • Identify protective modes and understand their impact on others and the wider system.
  • Recognise the gap between leadership intention and leadership behaviour under stress.
  • Develop insight into how different leadership styles interact within senior teams.
  • Build psychologically safe, healthy and high performing leadership cultures.
  • Convert sustained pressure into adaptive, growth‑focused leadership responses
