NPAG announces its New Bariatric Workshop – Supporting Plus-Size Patients – A Whole Systems Approach. Taking place on the 27th November 2019 in Central London.
NPAG have, for over five years, run a series of workshops, aimed at NHS managers, exploring the needs of plus-size patients. The key message to come out of our most recent workshop was the urgent need for all NHS trusts to develop comprehensive policies and plans to provide equality of access to healthcare to all. Every hospital or clinic should be able to welcome a patient of any size, without fear of embarrassment or loss of dignity. On the back of this we have developed our next workshop titled ‘Supporting Plus-Size Patients – A Whole-Systems Approach’
This workshop focuses on the need for trusts to research the particular requirements of the population they serve and to make suitable provision. In addition to the strategic approach we intend to explore the practical considerations including design, adaptation and evacuation and some of the psycho-social aspects that we should all be aware of, being ready to offer helpful interventions where appropriate.
It is always important to engage and plan with users of our services and, once again, we will include a very personal perspective from a service user within the day.

Our events always attract a number of key providers in the field and there will be an opportunity to examine new and innovative products from our sponsors.
