Equality & Diversity Onsite Training Workshops
Leading to gold standards in the NHS
The NHS is the largest employer in Europe, with over 1.3 million employees, the NHS has a responsibility to remain at the forefront of the inclusion and fairness agenda for patient and staff.
How will this workshop benefit me?
This is a one day onsite training workshop delivered on your premises to your staff. Aimed at all staff and levels the trainer will work with you to deliver a bespoke workshop tailored to your needs.
Utilising Equality and diversity principles plays a pivotal role in providing gold standard customer care albeit the apprehensions that we approach this subject with. This workshop will allow you to explore the reality of equality and diversity and what value this holds for building a strong foundation for great service delivery.
This workshop will cover:
- What does Equality & Diversity Look Like?
- What does the law say? Looking at the Equality Act 2010 & the Human Rights Act 1998.
- What does the NHS say? Exploring NHS Constitution & NHS Contracts.
- What can I do in my role?
- What does this mean to me? Delegates will asses values, beliefs, opinions, stereotypes & culture.
Equality is about ‘creating a fairer society, where everyone can participate and has the opportunity to fulfill their potential’ (DoH, 2004). By eliminating prejudice and discrimination, we can deliver services that are personal, fair and diverse. For the NHS, this means making it more accountable to the patients it serves and tackling discrimination in the work place. (DoH 2011).
Diversity means difference. When it is used as a contrast or addition to equality, it is about recognising individual as well as group differences, treating people as individuals, and placing positive value on diversity in the community and in the workforce.
