Facilities (North) Best Value Group
The NPAG Facilities North and South BVGs are unique groups enabling NHS Facilities Managers to meet and share new ideas, service innovation, discuss topical issues, measure trust performance, provide cost effective solutions, learn from others creative service redesign and network with likeminded individuals involved in Facilities Management.
The groups have been running for a number of years and have a broad membership from Acute, Community and Mental Health Trusts with members who have a wealth of experience in managing facilities. The NHS are going through a period of unprecedented change with NHS Managers more than ever having to demonstrate continuous service improvement with limited resource and challenging cost improvement programmes.
Beginning life as the ‘Hotel Services Benchmarking Club’ in 1998, our meetings have been hosted by over 50 hospitals. NPAG has worked with Facilities Services Managers, creating an environment for them to continually improve their services. Consequently members of our groups continue to demonstrate enthusiasm for seeking out improvements and developments in their services, providing a solid basis upon which to provide the best available care for patients.

The Facilities North Best Value Group provides an excellent opportunity for NHS managers to share ideas, innovation and receive presentations from experts or suppliers whilst developing networks of like-minded people who provide support and friendship.
The Facilities North BVG provides a pro-active networking forum for NHS Facilities professionals to share good practice, learn from other sectors of the industry, generate ideas for developing our respective NHS Facilities Services and to benchmark services to inform value testing. The Group Facilitator and Members provide a welcoming, positive and energetic forum which accelerates the exchange of ideas and generates the enthusiasm that characterises the group.
Attending NPAG Facilities North Best Value Group is invaluable in my role within the NHS. It shares best practice as well as acting as a point to enquire about any points that need further clarification or policies that other Trusts have completed.
The meetings are useful to share what is happening within each other’s Trusts and give reassurance that we are not alone and that many of the problems we encounter is not unique to our own Trusts.
I cannot recommend membership highly enough and would encourage any Trust to join and attend the meetings.
