NHS Car Parking and Travel Planning Network
Why Car Parking?
With the launch last year of the Health Technical Memorandum 07-03: Environment and Sustainability on Transport Management and Car Parking, NHS Trusts need to ensure Travel Planning becomes a central element of their Car Parking Strategy. The aim of the guidance is to identify best practice in developing travel plans and providing adequate transport and car parking for the NHS Trusts in England.
Have u developed mechanisms to routinely and systemically review the need for staff, patients and visitors to travel?
How do you manage your car parking strategy against this changing background?
How do you secure senior management buy-in and staff acceptance?
What are NPAG doing? late in 2015, with support from Dr Elizabeth Jones of the Department of Health, NPAG set up a new national group dedicated to Car Parking and Travel Planning. A year on and the group is now well-established with over 30 members from across the country.
“I think that this group will really help – there is a whole heap pf interest out there!” Elizabeth Jones, Department of Health

I very much enjoyed January’s meeting, I have 5 pages of extremely useful notes and the programme for the year is relevant to my Trust and so I’d definitely like to come to the next 3 meetings.NHS Car Parking & Travel Planning Network 2017 Member
